Beginners' Guide to Ignatian Spirituality

Tuesday 17 Apr - Tuesday 22 May 2018 (7:00pm - 8:30pm)
Published on 29 Aug 2017

This course is for those who are new to Ignatian spirituality, from any background. Its focus is primarily on Ignatian ways of prayer, within which we come to know more about the God who created us, who we are and who we were made to be. Just as there are a great variety of physical exercises for increasing our physical health, St. Ignatius believed that what he called the Spiritual Exercises would develop our spiritual health, our relationship with God and the world. During each session of this course you will be introduced to a different aspect of Ignatian spirituality or prayer, guided through a prayer exercise, invited to share your reflections upon the experience in a small group and at the end of the evening gathered together again in the larger group. You will also be invited to pray the prayer exercise during the week, for just like physical exercise the more you ‘practice’ the more benefits you will feel.
